Karen is an IT Analyst in Training & Development at BD, located in Franklin Lakes NJ.  BD is a leading global medical technology company that develops, manufactures and sells medical devices, instrument systems and reagents. Karen graduated from the Whittemore School of Business at the University of New Hampshire with a BS in Business Administration.

Karen has been involved with 1p36 DSA since its inception. Karen helped design and develop the 1p36 DSA website. Karen and her husband Steve have fund-raised over $10,000 for the organization.  In 2010, BD presented Karen with the BD 2010 Henry P. Becton Volunteer Impact Award for her commitment to community and devoting her personal time to the organization.

“As a mother of a child with 1p36 Deletion Syndrome, it is important to me to support families and provide awareness to the medical community about the syndrome.  I never want anyone who receives a diagnosis to feel alone”  

Karen and her family live in NY state.  Karen and Steve have two children, Aiden age 4 (1p36 Deletion Syndrome) and Dylan (9 months).
